pronounced sek-oh
full name: Lo'seqqo - low-sek-oh
Description
The Seqqo have a very serpentine appearance with elongated heads and slim bodies that taper to a long, flexible tail. The average adult measures twelve feet from its head to the tip of its tail and can 'stand' up to eight feet tall. They move close to the ground and can achieve speeds comparable to sprinters. They are also accomplished swimmers and able to climb trees rapidly by coiling around its trunk and branches. Flexible but tough, leathery plates line their fronts to the end of their tails. Medium length hair grows over their back, head, under their chin and down the backs of their arms. One rare form of Seqqo have leathery, thin flaps of skin between their arms and sides that serve as gliding wings.
Skin and hair can be grey, brown or browny-red and some Seqqo have natural patterns on their bodies.
If the Seqqo have a spoken language it is unknown to other races and has never been heard. A form of sign-language is used to communicate with other races.
Creation Myth
The Seqqo hold the common belief that they were created long, long ago in a forgotten age when beings of light roamed the vast skies of Edadh, coiling in the winds of time. The beings perceived the universe in twilight glory through the light they cast on the waters, the trees, in the earth and onto the clouds. But some grew reckless in their curiosity, dared too near the lands and many forests were destroyed by the raging fires of their forms. At this they wept and their tears extinguished the inferno. From the sodden ashes were born the race of Seqqo, rising up from the fresh earths, surrounded by lush grasses and new growth.
Cultures
The Seqqo have only a single culture on Edadh - Nuko (pronounced new-coe). The Nuko are hunter-gatherers but clans live within settlements and can be found across the whole of Edadh within the wilder regions. The Lo'jou co-exist in Nuko with the Seqqo.
