pronounced new-co
full name: Nuko'yr - new-co-ear
The Nuko still fight according to the old ways where individual martial ability is prized above unit formations. They are master wildsmen and guerrilla fighters and avoid open warfare where possible. However, when brought to the battlefield they have devised cunning strategems to break up enemy formations so that their individual prowess can be maximised.
Two species make up the Nuko - the serpentine Seqqo (pronounced sek-oh) and the diminutive but multi-armed Lo'jou (pronounced low-joo). Side by side in battle these two species make a foridable enemy as the Seqqo strike from above whilst the Lo'jou simultaneously attack from below.
Each Nuko clan, although small, acts like its own kingdom. It is not uncommon for a Nuko clan to ally with another warring faction and fight with them. However, many are independent and battle for lands stolen from them by the 'civilised' cultures. The Nuko are found across the entire face of Edadh and within the myths of all other cultures and countries the Seqqo and Lo'jou are acknowledged as being the first beings on Edadh.
The Nuko are famed for their fortune-telling ability. Masters of the craft use long sticks to predict the future and it is recognised that this ability has aided them in remaining independent even from the Dzaa Empire.
The Nuko live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle within the wildest regions of Edadh, even within the territory of the Dzaa Empire. They have homes up in the canopy of the trees, on the earth within the thickest thorn woods and beneath the ground within Underearth. As a result the Dzaa never "conquered" them and don't actively attack the clans unless provoked. Many Nuko clans are actually allies of the Dzaa.
