The Dzaa warring faction are masters of the battlefield. Their troops are rigorously trained in massed rank combat and together with their superior arms they are fearsome opponents. Their core troops are shown here but they do bolster their ranks with cultural units and so it is common to find Ang, Cerchae and other auxilliaries within their army.

Dzaa Standard Card

Heading - Standard

The Standard is a physical symbol of an army unit or the army itself. The Dzaa Standards are great flags that are carried into battle. It is a high honour to be the Standard Bearer.

Battle Masters are the military leaders of the Dzaa. In a battle it is the Battle Masters that organise and motivate the troops and outwit the enemy.

Combat Masters are the champions of the Dzaa - the best, most respected and most feared warriors.

Weapons : Sword

The Dzaa employ only Kes as Swords for their added size and strength. The Swords are heavily armoured and primarily utilised to crush opponent infantry.

Dzaa Spears Troop card

Weapons : Spear

The Spears are versatile infantry, best deployed in blocks of troops. They can fend off cavalry or allow troops in the 2nd rank to attack the enemy. Qai are employed as Spears and are not as heavily armoured as Swords.

Weapons : Blunderbuss, Sword & Dagger

The blunderbuss is effective at short range - during the charge. A specialist troop, blunderbusses often augment and support other troops rather than form units of their own.

Weapons : Musket & Sword

The Dzaa Gunners are all Qai for their night vision allows them to be as effective at night as during the day. Without shields and not heavily armoured they are more vulnerable at Melee but their muskets can penetrate shields at short range.

Weapons : Spear

The size and strength of the Kes are used as cavalry to augment their impact after a charge. But they must be used wisely for if placed on the wrong terrain they are ineffective and formations of spears can counter them.

Weapons : Rifle, Pistol & Sword

Quick, agile & armed with shield piercing rifles, Dzaa Scouts form the army's vanguard to gain terrain to their advantage.

Heading - Longspear

Weapons : Longspear

Although the longspear requires two hands and so shields can't be used, Longspears can attack the enemy from the 3rd or 4th ranks and are very effective against mounted foes.

Weapons : Great Sword

Heavily, fully armoured, the Great Swords are used to cut through dense ranks and negate spears by slashing the heads from the shafts.

Heavy Gunners augment regular Gunners with weapons capable of punching through shields, armour and ranks of opponents.

Like the Heavy Gunners, the Grenadiers augment other troops and use their grenades to blow apart dense ranks of troops.

The Dzaa Light Cavalry are effective at pinning enemy infantry down and hounding enemy heavy cavalry - versatile troop.

When the Dzaa need a bit more punch they call on their Heavy Cavalry. Fully armoured, the Heavy Cavalry are awesome shock troops.

Mega Cavalry carry five soldiers on their broad backs armed with blunderbuss & spears. Awesome against lesser troops they have to be used at the right time as they are vulnerable to ranged fire.

The Dzaa dominate the skies and a large portion of their success is down to their Aerial Cavalry - lightly armoured but able to strike with their carbines from range.

Mounted Scouts are lightly armoured & skilled wildsmen. They accompany the Scouts to hold the flanks and obtain terrain advantage.

The Warbeasts of the Dzaa are armoured and trained killers. Let loose amongst enemy formations they can be lethal.

Like Warhounds, the Dzaa Warbirds are armoured and are used to strike at an enemy's flank or rear whilst other Dzaa troops attack from the front.
